About Breathwork Therapy
Breathwork Therapy uses conscious, intentional breathing techniques to regulate the autonomic nervous system, release trapped trauma and emotions, and access non-ordinary states of consciousness that facilitate profound healing. At Trust SoCal, our breathwork-trained facilitators guide clients through pranayama (yogic breathing), holotropic breathwork, and other evidence-informed breathwork modalities designed to support addiction recovery and emotional integration.
The breath is the bridge between the conscious and unconscious mind, between the voluntary and involuntary nervous systems. Chronic stress and trauma dysregulate breathing patterns—shallow chest breathing that maintains hypervigilance. Breathwork interrupts these patterns, signaling safety to the nervous system and unlocking the capacity for deeper emotional processing. Many clients report that guided breathing helps them access emotions and insights that remained blocked despite years of talk therapy, facilitating rapid emotional release and integration essential to recovery.
